I am loving our Fishing for Knowledge game...it never gets old and the twists you can put on it are endless. The kids have fun with it and it's so good for them to learn letter recognition and sounds! I found the idea at Family Fun, they used frozen juice lids which I didn't have on hand but I did however have used canning lids! I knew I was saving those things for something!! Everyone would always ask me why I saved them and I always gave them the same answer, "I don't know but some day I'll be glad I did!" Well when I saw this idea, yes I was glad I did. I probably have 100 lids (nope not kidding!).
The kids fish for a letter and then they find the letter with the picture, they have to tell me what the picture is and what sound that letter makes. They are doing better with their letter names and sounds, it's great!
Today we started the letter N we made noodle nests for our birds. I used Garden Delight spaghetti because it was brown, orange and green. I thought it represented twigs and leaves better than regular pasta. The kids loved munching and crunching up noodles to make their the nests; It was cute! I think they turned out so cute!!
