Wait List

Apparently my waiting list for next year has began!  Please leave a comment below or email me if you want me to plan on you for next year.  Obviously me pre-K kids will be going on to Kindergarten next year so I know I have those spots open. (sniff...sniff ;( I didn't realize just the thought of say good bye to my preschoolers was going to be sad!!!)
If you have any friends looking for preschool let me know now, and I will add them to the list.  I am still planning on just having the one class but I can add another if I need to.  It will probably be an afternoon class.  Also I may have to adjust my times slightly depending on when my kindergartener goes to school!
Thank you all for being my guinea pigs this year.  This has been such a fun year and a great learning experience for me.  I have loved working with each of your kids and they truly are a joy to me!!!

Christmas Gifts...

I hope everyone liked their ornaments! The kids had fun painting their salt dough frames and holly.  I don't think they understood what we were making becuase when I showed them their picture inside the next day they were so excited to get to bring them home to you all!!  Anyway I really hoped I could have sent you home with cute little salt dough hand prints instead :( but I think these turned out cute anyway!

Where Pintrest Collides...

I saw a fun idea on Pintrest about making colored rice (<-got there for recipe) for a sensory table...HAD to do! Well as it was all pretty colored and sitting on my craft table I saw yet another idea on Pintrest and it was to make clear bean bags.  However the things she had in hers weren't as brightly colored as my flashy rice!! And then I realized I had 5 tubs of this beautifully colored rice and I couldn't resist!!   So out came 10 clear bean bags filled with colored rice!  I wasn't really sure what I was going to use them for but when I was finished I shook them to mix up the rice and they made the prettiest sound.  So at music time I pulled them out and the kids had a blast.

Notice I mixed the colors :)...I started off doing all blue and all green...then those little voices popped into my head, "I want green, I want pink...I didn't want purple..." So yes I made them multi colored!  Smart...I know!

I just wanted to say these little faces are the perfect addition to my preschool! Don't you think?! I mean really, do kids get any cuter?!

j is for journals

I started making journals for the kids today. Good ol' back to school sales have been my friend lately, and I got these notebooks for .10 at Fred's.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them at the time of purchase but for .10 how could I pass it up.  Then again while making up my lesson plans another grand idea came to me...make fancy journals.
All I did was measure the length and width of the notebook made an scrapbook collection of paper, then glued it down to the notebook.  It looked a little bland so I added a small piece of ribbon.  Then I used my cute free fonts that I just downloaded from Kevin and Amanda for the finishing touches.  After everything was glue down good and tight, I cut a piece of contact paper (leaving a 2 inch boarder around the edges) and covered it up. Super easy!

ABC's

During the summer when I would come home from BYU-H I worked at summer school as an aide in the kindergarten room.  One thing the teacher had, that I always thought was fun, was an ABC bag.  Her's was a brown paper bag, yes the kind she just brought her groceries home in.  Nothing fancy, but a perfect idea.  Each week as she introduced a new letter she would come to school with her bag filled with items that started with that letter! The kids always had fun with her ABC bag!

Last night while writing lesson plans I had an idea to make a fancy alphabet bag.  I like to consider myself as more of a simple person, I actually liked her brown paper Safeway bag, however from time to time ya just need something fancy! So here she is...made from my left over bargain Ikea fabric (see post below) and some red fabric, to be honest,  I don't think is all that cute and really have no idea were it came from...none the less it worked and didn't cost me a dime. (Yarn, yes another freebie...thanks mom!)

t is for TA-DA...

I saw a cute idea online that I wanted to make my own. Remeber that ugly green poster board idea?!?  Well my mom found this crusty cork board at a garage sale and I figured it'd make the perfect board! I wanted it to look like a chalkboard but really didn't feel like spending the money on chalkboard paint so I just used good old cheap black tempera paint!  I painted it black had my sister cut out some cute vinyl, and ta-da...

 

b is for brain overload...

I have been  surfing the web this morning in hopes to solidify my preschool curriculum.  WOW, there is so many ideas I could change my curriculum every year for the next 10 years. There are so many cute ideas and crafts...too much excitement!!

I loved this theme board idea, not the cutest board, but the idea, dead on perfect!!  This is her theme board she makes each week.  Lucky for me I have an in, in the vinyl business who can help me make this totally adorable!!! I think I will make a chalkboard on my far wall and have that be my theme board. 

The wall next to it I am going to paint a giant tree.  How cute is this wall I found on the front of April's P & G coupon book?  This little girl looks pretty excited about it. There is also another cute tree wall done by my super talented sister in law here.

 

Or there's the very cute, but overpriced Pottery Barn tree, they have a vinyl tree for $200, yup you read that right, a $200 sticker...only at Pottery Barn huh :).

So I would just like to say thank you to all you creative bloggers!!  You're a real life saver. And well a big headache as well!!
