Week 2: All About Me

I thought these name signs turned out way cuter than I expected!  So cute and the kids loved it :)!

 

Our math lesson was two fold this week :)!  It's always fun handing preschoolers a bottle of glue for a project...we all know what happens next...mounds of glue on a project that never dries.  I found this counting lesson about Dot...Dot, NOT a Lot, so it got them to do little dots of glue and had lots of counting work.

Our other math/all about me project this week was graphing (brown/blue eyes, brown/blond hair, boy/girl) and for whatever reason the kids all wanted their picture next to the graph!!

Week 1: All About ME!

Well...I have to say this was a pretty fabulous first week of preschool! Kids stayed on task, they followed directions...they were all model students.
This month is All About Me, so we finger painted, talked about ourselves & our emotions.

We talked about what we were made of...legs, arms, bodies, etc, and made chalk outlines of ourselves and then colored in the details!  The kids had fun, as you can see :)

Friends being made...oh happy day.

We talked about all our feelings and emotions and read lots of fun books and here's one of our fun songs...Ask your kiddos if they can sing this song for you.  It's, If your happy and you know if clap your hands...yeah you know the song, but then the next verses start with, if your mad, sad, excited, tired, surprised!! It's a cute song. 

Here was our math game today...build a robot! Roll the dice, count the numbers and build our robot.

Makes me happy the kids are all getting along, they had fun being silly, had fun reading together and had fun learning together. Yay for a successful week!

Week 4: Bb is for Band-aid

Week 4, already? We are having so much fun!  We talked about the letter Bb this week. We made and played things that started with the letter Bb!  Each Tuesday we will be making a letter like our Apple stamp "Aa" and our Band-aid "Bb", if you would like to start a little binder with all of them, at the end of the year you would have a great little ABC book.  You can punch holes in them or get plastic page protectors and slide them in each week...just an idea.  I happen to have 10 or so extra binders that are taking up garage space if you don't have an extra one laying around, I'd be happy to donate. Just let me know on Tuesday!

Continuing on our "about me" theme this month...our feeling puppets!

Week 3

This year I created a shelf specific to center time activities.  I always had all these fun games and supplies tucked away in a tub the kids couldn't see!  This year I decided to put it all out so it is visible to the kids and not out of site out of mind!!  Everything on this shelf, the kids know they have to ask miss Kelli to use but they can us anything on it during our centers time! Well the girls discovered the stamps and I had a hard time prying them away from them to move on to music :)!!

Have I ever mentioned how much fun we have during music time!?!?  The kids are so animated and their little personalities just come out! Above they are singing If You're Happy and You Know It, with a few different verses I added since we are talking about our emotions and feelings this month!

Week 2: All About Me

 

All about me is such a fun subject...the kids love to tell everyone all about them!! We got to share our All About Me posters...all very cute! Thanks parents for returning the homework...I promise, homework wont be a regular thing :)!! They had a blast with our finger prints and studying them under the magnified glass.  We talked all about the different kinds of prints and how ours compared! Very fun!

 I love to see friendships already forming :)!!

Week 1 Highlights: All About ME!

The first week of school couldn't have gone any better I believe.  Everyone was so happy and played so well.  I think we all had fun!  This week the focus was on ourselves.  We talked about how we are all the same in many ways and different in many others.

Here is everyone making themselves!  They all laid down on top of their paper while we outlined them, then they got to draw their clothes, their hair and face!

I'm always grateful for a little sunshine! I think the kids were just as happy and grateful that we could have free time outside.  We got out a sensory tub which was a big highlight and so was soccer!
