Ss is for St. Patrick

OK! Almost all caught up...
Ss is such an easy week cuz the kids can think of a million things that start with Ss. It was a bonus that this week was St. Patrick's day, and that and shamrocks just so happen to start with Ss...two birds with one stone!
I loved these little shamrocks, we traced a shamrock pattern on the back, glued on our paper and then I cut out their shamrock.  They were super easy and super cute!

There are advantages to having my big kids home...I think the preschoolers liked having a "big" friend on Thursday :)

Week 22: Ss is for Stickers...Shiny Stickers :)

What is it about kids and stickers...something is almost magical about stickers when you are a kid.  They are a great reward, they are fun to play with and you love to give them to your friends! And these SHINY, STICKERS of things that live under the SEA were a perfect a addition to our letter S!

Oh Mr. Sun, sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please Shine down on me!!
This month we have been talking about farms and gardens and so today we planted some "seeds" (ok they are really beans but beans didn't start with S ;)!!) in our greenhouses.  Be sure to hang them up in a sunny window so the beans will grow! I got the adorable Greenhouse idea and template from a cute blog, My Warriors! I'm so glad there are creative people out there!!!

Today I sent home our shape books.  We have been working on these this month when we have an extra minute because we have also been talking a lot about our shapes.

If your curious about why I have a picture of a chip...it's because this made me happy while I was eating them: one of the kids said, "your chips are an hexagon cuz they have 6 sides!!!"  It melts my heart when they talk all smart!!

Week 21 Updates: Ss is for Sick...apparently!

I'm sorry our week was cut short but I just didn't want to risk the sharing the flu with you all!!
But the kids had a good day on the letter Ss. We made our S picture with our shiny star stickers and they turned out adorable.
Also we brought out Miss Kelli's "snakes".  Did you know I had snakes ;)!! They are not very friendly so we can't touch them. However they are very smart and love to make letters. They work together and can make every letter of the alphabet! If we are very careful, they will let you help them make letter and sometimes we can pet them!!! Their names are Alfred, Barthalamu and Franky? Or at least I think...the kids rename them on a weekly bases!
Well we will have to make this week up!! We'll have come up with a fun day at the end of the year!!
