Qq is for Queen

The girls had fun with our Spring packets we pulled out this month.  They help with patterns, number and shape recognition.
Here we are making our Queen crown (ok and two king crowns :), but anyway they turned out fun.  All we did was cut and paint a paper plate, add some circles and suddenly we are Queens (and kings :)!
These are some happy royal kids :)
 Well...almost everyone is happy...

Week 20: Qq is for q-tips

So I just realized why on last weeks why I never hit "publish" it was becuase I didn't finish it...hahaha...so if you want to finish reading about the letter P click here!! Sorry!!

Letter Qq...Q is a hard letter, not a lot of nouns that start with Q and kids have a hard time hearing the difference between Q and C/K.  I tried really hard to show them the difference in how our lips move when we say quack or crack...very similar words however our mouths move differently.  Something they will master someday, I didn't expect them to get it now!!

We did Q-Tip painting for our letter Q this week...

Music time :).  5 Little Monkeys and 5 Little Ducks...someone looks tired!!
My ABC Helper found only 3 things in our ABC bag. A quilt, a queen and a quarter!

Thursday we made flowers out of q-tips and then talked about flowers.  We played this game, what does a flower need to grow.  We also looked at different kinds of flowers (thankfully it was just my birthday so I had some to show!)
These were fun little flowers! I thought they turned out cute!
We also started our shape books.  We have been talking about shapes and about colors, so we started these little books this week and we will finish them over the next couple weeks when we have time to work on them. Today I saw lots of pink :)
Here we are at our closing circle time, Do As I'm Doing...and Lady Bug Math!!

Week 19 updates: Qq is for Quick as a Cricket

I always have a hard time with the letter Q, there's nothing exciting about Qq...quarters and queens?  I don't know I'm sure there is some cute project out there.  But lucky for us it was Valentines so we got to do lots of Valentines crafts and just talk about the letter Qq :)!! Well we did do our Qq worksheet, but nothin' fancy!!
Find a picture tell me what it starts with! I was impressed, they did pretty good at figuring this out!
Jump, Jump, Jumping Beans holding hands? This was kind of dangerous...but they insisted ther needed to hold hands today! I was afraid they were going to jump on each other...It's kind of a wild song!! Fortunately we all survived!
Making our bead necklaces! Fine motor skills hard at work!
 Finishing the patterns!
Cleaning up blocks...wait...that doesn't look like a block!?!?! How'd you get in there silly kid!?!? I'm bummed I didn't get a single picture of our valentines bag or the kids passing out their valentines.  It was just a little crazy with excitement I guess I forgot to grab my camera!
Thank-you all for sending such awesome valentines for all the kids! You guys are great parents.  Thanks for all my valentines too, you guys are too kind! I loved them all!
